Journeys to Magic
Overview

Journeys to Magic follows Xinyu Ma, the overly happy Merchant of Joy, as she travels westward with the unthinkable goal of toppling the heavens and exposing the immortal gods' secret. Using a lost technique only she knows, she steals tiny bits of divine magic from the Eastland heavens and with it, is able to contend with some of the most powerful beings below the gods. Though the gods themselves cannot be killed, it seems the always smiling merchant girl has a trick up her sleeve.

Of course, the situation isn't so simple.

​

Prophecies of the end arise and dictate two inevitable truths: 

One, the Merchant of Joy will die

and two, humanity shall perish

​

Furthermore, it seems that the world's end is wrought upon gods who are corrupted by an anomalous black force. Not Zeus nor Odin nor the Jade Emperor himself are prepared for this unknown energy and well-known gods begin falling victim to it one by one. Since gods cannot be killed nor stopped, even in their corrupt state, it seems the prophecies are an inevitable truth as the end of the world fastly approaches.

Xinyu, undeterred by these prophecies, vows not to die and begins her quest to "save all the smiles of humanity" by befriending an unlikely ally: a hopeless, middle-aged peasant named Brax, who is well past his prime. For whatever reason, she chooses to bring him along and the odd duo set on a journey to brave unexplored lands against all odds. Along the way, they recruit the Westland's greatest scholar, Cygnus Rift, and their fight against fate begins as they unravel the mysteries that have been lost to the history of thousands of years.
